Letterhead Lab

A lot of firms have a designed letterhead PDF that nobody can actually type on. Word won’t edit it cleanly, and generic PDF-to-Word converters try to turn the logo, address block and typography into editable text frames, which is exactly where the design falls apart. Letterhead Lab is one of Parameter’s own products, built for that one job.

The approach is deliberately narrow: keep the artwork as artwork. The tool renders the PDF, crops the top and bottom of the page into images and places them in the Word header and footer, leaving the body clean for whoever types the next letter. Multi-page selection, a slimmer continuation header for pages two onward, A4 and US Letter sizes and .dotx templates are part of the same flow.

Privacy is a property of the architecture, not a line of marketing copy. The PDF is parsed with pdf.js and the .docx is assembled in the visitor’s browser, so the document never reaches a server. The backend handles Stripe checkout, partner accounts and email, on Cloudflare Pages and Functions with D1 and KV.

Print shops and design studios get a partner layer: a branded converter link under their own name and a dashboard to go with it. For engraved paper stationery, the site points people to Wells & Drew. We keep building and operating it in-house, alongside PreArrive and Stackfill.
