Odoo maintenance and operations: someone owns the platform.
Odoo doesn't fail. It gets abandoned. After go-live, updates slip, backups go untested, and nobody notices the sync that stopped on Tuesday.
Odoo Operations is the engagement where that becomes our job. One senior engineer owns your staging and production environments, the backups, the deployments, and the plan for the next upgrade, and reports to you in writing every month.
- One named engineer
- Monthly platform review
- Committed term, in writing
This is where things usually break.
None of these is dramatic. Each one is just nobody's job.
Updates slip
Nobody wants to be the one who broke production, so updates wait. Then they pile up, and each one gets riskier.
Backups exist, in theory
The backup job has run every night for two years. Nobody has restored one.
A sync stops and nobody notices
Orders keep arriving. Stock quietly drifts. By the time someone asks, a week of data needs reconciling.
The upgrade keeps moving
It has been next quarter for three quarters running. Meanwhile the version ages out of support.
Odoo maintenance, owned: eight things that become our job.
Odoo run the way a development team runs production software.
Production and staging
Both environments are ours to keep healthy. Changes go to staging first, then to production in a planned window.
Backup and recovery checks
Backups that have never been tested are just optimism. We restore them on a schedule to prove they work.
Deployments
Module and configuration releases go out in a planned window, each with a rollback plan written before it ships.
Scheduled jobs
The automated runs nobody watches: invoicing, syncs, reminders, imports. Checking them becomes our job.
Integration triage
When a connector stalls, we work out which side broke, fix what is ours, and chase what is not.
Upgrade planning
We track your version's support window and plan the next upgrade before it turns urgent.
Monthly platform review
A written review each month: what changed, what needs attention, and what is coming next.
Priority response
A senior engineer replies within one business day, ahead of ad hoc requests.
Two offers, and they are not the same thing.
People ask for Odoo support and maintenance as one thing. They are two jobs: Support resolves issues, and Operations maintains the platform. Pick by who you want to be responsible when nothing is on fire.
| Odoo Support | Odoo Operations | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Fixes, tuning, and training when you ask | Ownership of the platform |
| Terms | Month to month | A committed term, agreed in writing |
| Covers | Bug fixes, integration fixes, workflow tuning, user training | Staging and production, backup and recovery checks, deployments, scheduled jobs, integration triage, upgrade planning |
| Reporting | Transparent time logs | A written platform review every month |
| Response | A senior engineer replies within one business day | One-business-day priority response |
| Projects and upgrades | Quoted separately as fixed scope | Planned here, quoted separately as fixed scope |
Operations has a committed term because owning a platform for a month is not owning it. If you want help only when something breaks, Odoo Support is the better fit.
No surprise fees on the way in.
We look before we commit, and you see any one-time cost before it is incurred.
-
The Assessment
A first conversation, a written Preliminary Scope within 5 business days of it, and a meeting to walk through it.
-
A read-only review
We look at the environment as it is: version, hosting, modules, integrations, backups, scheduled jobs.
-
Initial work, quoted first
There is no standard setup fee. If the review finds work that has to happen before Operations can start, we scope it and quote it for your approval.
-
Operations begins
Agreed scope, agreed term, one named engineer, and the first monthly review a month later.
Questions about Odoo Operations.
What is Odoo Operations?
Odoo Operations is a committed engagement in which Parameter owns your Odoo platform after go-live. It covers production and staging, backup and recovery checks, deployments, scheduled jobs, integration triage, upgrade planning, a monthly platform review, and one-business-day priority response.
Is this Odoo maintenance?
Yes. Odoo maintenance is the plain name for what Operations does: keeping the system updated, backed up, deployed safely, and ready for its next upgrade. We call it Operations because someone has to own that work, not only react when something breaks.
How is Operations different from Odoo Support?
Support resolves issues when you ask: fixes, tuning, and training, month to month, with transparent time logs. Operations maintains the platform whether or not anything is broken, on a committed term. Projects and upgrades are quoted separately as fixed scope under either one.
Do you host Odoo?
No. You keep your Odoo subscription and your hosting, on Odoo.sh or on your own server, and we operate the system there. Operations is not a hosting plan. If you are still choosing where to host, the Assessment covers it.
Is this a managed Odoo service?
Yes, with one difference from a managed host. We manage the system: staging and production, backups, deployments, scheduled jobs, and upgrade planning. The Odoo subscription and the hosting stay yours, on Odoo.sh or your own server.
Is there a contract?
Yes. Operations runs on a committed term, agreed in writing before it starts, because owning a platform takes longer than a month. If you want help without a commitment, Odoo Support is month to month.
What does Odoo Operations cost?
It is quoted after the free Assessment, because the size of the system, the custom code, and the number of integrations drive the work. There is no standard setup fee. If the review finds work that has to happen first, it is scoped and quoted for your approval.
Are upgrades included?
Planning the upgrade is included: tracking your version's support window and preparing for the move. The upgrade itself is a fixed-scope project, quoted separately, because its size depends on your custom code and the version gap.
What do we get each month?
A written platform review covering what changed, what needs attention, and what is coming next, including upgrade timing. It is written for the person who runs the business, not for another engineer.
Does Operations make sense on Odoo Online?
Usually not. On Odoo Online, Odoo runs the infrastructure, and there is no custom code, staging, or deployment to own, so Odoo Support is the better fit. Operations is built for systems on Odoo.sh or on your own server, on Community or Enterprise.
Find out what your system needs before anyone signs anything.
The Odoo Assessment is free. We start with a call, an email, or an in-person meeting, send a written Preliminary Scope within 5 business days of that conversation, then meet to walk through it.
