Odoo ERP development and customization that holds up.
Custom Odoo code is easy to write and expensive to own. Every module you add has to be carried through every upgrade, by someone who still understands it.
Parameter's Odoo ERP development services cover custom modules, connectors, and reports for teams that have outgrown configuration. A senior engineer does the work, on staging first, in a repository you own. We build what you need, keep the rest standard, and write all of it down.

Odoo development services, in plain terms.
Six kinds of work, from a single report to full Odoo customization services. Each one starts from the standard product and adds only what it lacks.
Custom modules
New models, fields, screens, and workflows for the way your business actually runs. Built as separate add-ons, so standard Odoo stays standard.
Connectors and integrations
Shipping, payments, e-commerce, print and fulfilment systems, and in-house tools. We decide which system owns each record before we write a line.
Reports and dashboards
The numbers leadership asks for, built inside Odoo. If a figure drifts, we find out why instead of exporting to Excel forever.
Storefronts and portals
Odoo Website and eCommerce work: customer portals, per-customer catalogs, approval steps, and reorder flows.
Inherited code
The module the last developer left behind. We read it, document what it does, fix what is broken, and tell you what is worth keeping.
Version ports
Custom modules have to be ported at every major Odoo version. We port them, test on a staged copy, and release with a rollback plan.

This is where Odoo customization usually breaks.
For most small businesses, a custom module is overkill. When you do need one, these are the mistakes that make it expensive.
Building what Odoo already does
Plenty of custom requests already exist as a standard feature or a setting. We check that first, because the cheapest module is the one you don't write.
Editing Odoo's own code
Changes made inside Odoo's files block the next update or vanish with it. Customization belongs in separate modules that extend the standard ones.
Testing on the live database
Code tested in production is tested by your customers. Work goes to a staging copy of your database first.
Nobody wrote it down
Six months later nobody remembers why the field exists. A module should ship with a short document: what it does, why, and how to change it.
Forgetting the upgrade bill
Odoo's upgrade service covers standard apps. It does not cover modules written in-house or by a partner. Count the cost of carrying custom code forward before you build it.
Custom code on the wrong hosting
Odoo Online does not run custom modules. If you need code, you need Odoo.sh or your own server, and both require Odoo's Custom plan.
What to expect from an Odoo development company.
The discipline of production software: staging, a written scope, a rollback plan, and documents you can read without us in the room.
-
Start with the Assessment
A first conversation, then a written Preliminary Scope within 5 business days of it. The Scope says what to build, what to configure, and what to leave alone.
-
Fixed scope, fixed quote
You approve a written scope and price before work starts. If the scope changes, the change is scoped and priced, not absorbed quietly.
-
Build on staging
The code lives in a Git repository you own. It runs on a staging copy of your database before it goes anywhere near production.
-
Test what the business depends on
We test the workflows your team uses every day, with your data and your people, before release.
-
Release with a way back
Releases go out in a planned window, with a rollback plan written first.
-
Hand over the documents
You get the code, the configuration notes, and a plain-English description of what was built and why.

Questions teams ask before they hire Odoo developers.
Can you customize Odoo Online?
Only up to a point. Odoo Online runs Odoo's standard apps, plus changes made with Studio on the Custom plan. It does not run custom modules. Custom code needs Odoo.sh or your own server, and both require Odoo's Custom plan.
Do you work on both Odoo Community and Enterprise?
Yes. Enterprise is the paid edition and comes with Odoo's support, hosting, and version upgrades. Community is free to license, and you host and maintain it yourself. Custom modules can be built for either, and we tell you which edition fits before you build on it.
Will custom modules break when we upgrade Odoo?
They have to be ported to each new major version. Odoo cannot upgrade a database until a version of every custom module exists for the target release, and its upgrade service does not cover modules written in-house or by a partner unless you pay Odoo to maintain them. We build modules that extend standard Odoo instead of editing it, which keeps the port smaller.
Can you take over code another developer wrote?
Yes. We start by reading it and writing down what it does. Then we tell you what to keep, what to fix, and what to retire. Inherited code is a normal starting point for us, not a reason to rebuild.
Who owns the code?
You do. The code lives in a Git repository you own, and you get the configuration notes and a plain-English description of what was built. If you move to another partner or bring the work in-house, nothing has to be reverse-engineered.
How is Odoo development priced?
As a fixed-scope quote after a free Assessment. You approve a written scope and price before work starts, and a change in scope is scoped and priced before it is built. Small fixes are quoted flat before we begin.
How long does custom Odoo development take?
It depends on the scope. A report or a small module is a short job. A connector to another system or a multi-module build takes longer, and most of that time goes to testing with your people and your data. You get dates with the written scope.
What should we look for in an Odoo development company?
Four things. It checks what standard Odoo already does before it proposes code, and it builds in separate modules, never inside Odoo's own files. It works on staging, in a repository you own. And it tells you up front what carrying the code through upgrades will involve.
Can we hire Odoo developers for one defined piece of work?
Yes. A single module, connector, or set of reports can be scoped and quoted as its own project. You don't need a retainer for it. If you want ongoing changes afterward, Odoo Support is month to month.
Start with a written scope, not a guess.
The Odoo Assessment is free. We start with a call, an email, or an in-person meeting, send a written Preliminary Scope within 5 business days of that conversation, then meet to walk through it.
