Odoo Partner Finance, Legal & Insurance

Odoo for finance, legal, and insurance firms, around the client.

A professional firm sells time, judgment, and follow-through. The follow-through is what falls between the inbox and the billing system.

We set up Odoo for the firm's own operations: intake, engagements, time, billing, documents, and renewals. It is not a trust accounting package, a policy administration system, or a core banking platform, and we do not pretend it is.

  • Written scope before work starts
  • Built on staging
  • Supported after launch
Where the time goes

Where a firm's follow-through breaks.

Intake that depends on who answered

A prospect calls or fills in a form. What happens next depends on who picked it up and how busy they were.

Time recorded at the end of the month

Hours are rebuilt from calendars and sent mail. Some of the work is never billed.

Documents chased by email

The same request for the same document goes out three times. Nobody can see what is still outstanding across clients.

Renewals remembered by one person

Policy renewals, annual filings, and engagement letters come due on dates held in someone's head or a private spreadsheet.

What we set up and run

Odoo for finance, legal, and insurance firms: what it covers.

Intake

A pipeline for new matters and clients

Web forms, calls, and referrals become records with a stage, an owner, and a next step. Conflict and compliance checks are steps on the same record.

Time and billing

Timesheets to invoices

Time is recorded against a client and a matter or engagement, then invoiced as hourly, fixed fee, or recurring. Clients can pay online.

Documents

Requests, storage, and signature

Document requests go out with a deadline and show as open until received. Engagement letters and forms are signed with the Sign app.

Renewals

Dates that chase themselves

Renewals and recurring engagements carry dates, owners, and automatic reminders, so the list builds itself.

Configuration, or a project of its own?
Need Usually configuration Needs its own scope
Client accounting The firm's own books, invoices, and receivables. Client trust accounts and the rules that govern them. Normally a dedicated system.
Matter and case work Projects, tasks, deadlines, and documents per matter. Court deadline rules, docketing, and e-filing connections.
Insurance Client and policy records, renewal dates, and follow-ups. Carrier downloads, rating, commissions by carrier, and agency management features.
Compliance Access rights by role and a log of changes on records. Regulatory record retention, audits, and anything your regulator specifies.

This is a guide, not a price list or a promise. What applies to you depends on your Odoo plan, your current software, and your rules, and it is settled in a written scope before work starts. See Odoo implementation and Odoo integrations.

Before you replace anything

Keep the regulated system. Fix what surrounds it.

Trust accounting, policy administration, and anything your regulator audits should stay in software built for that job. Odoo is general business software and carries none of those certifications. Where it helps is the work around the regulated core: intake, follow-up, time, billing, and documents, connected to that core where the vendor allows it.

Connecting systems that are not Odoo is covered under API and systems integration, and software built for your own rules under custom software.

Illustrative example, not a client result

One new client, from first call to first invoice.

This is how the work can move once the steps share one record. Your version will differ, and which steps are configuration or integration depends on your setup.

  1. The inquiry arrives

A form or a call creates an intake record with an owner. The clock on the first reply starts there.

  2. Checks are done

Conflict and identity checks are steps on the record. The record cannot move forward until they are marked complete.

  3. The engagement is signed

The engagement letter goes out for e-signature. A signed letter opens the matter and the billing arrangement.

  4. Time becomes an invoice

Time recorded against the matter is reviewed and invoiced. The client pays from a link, and the receivable clears itself.

How we work

Six phases, one accountable team.

  1. Understand the workflows

We follow real work through your operation: where it starts, who touches it, where it waits, and where it gets retyped. You get a written scope that says what we found and what we recommend.

  2. Configure and integrate

Configuration first, integration second, custom work last and only where the first two fall short. Everything is built on staging, not on your live system.

  3. Validate the data

Your records are cleaned and loaded on a test copy, then checked by the people who know them. Bad data is the most common reason a launch disappoints.

  4. Train the team

Each team learns its own part on its own real cases. Short written guides stay behind.

  5. Launch

A planned cutover with a checklist, a way back, and us on hand while the first real work goes through.

  6. Support

After launch the system has an owner. Odoo Support runs month to month, and Odoo Operations is a committed engagement for teams that want us to own the platform.

Pricing
Written scope, then a quote

Every project is scoped and quoted for approval before work starts. There is no price list, because the workflows, the data, and the integrations drive the number.

After launch
The system has an owner

Odoo Support month to month, or Odoo Operations as a committed engagement.

FAQ

Questions we hear from finance, legal, and insurance firms.

Can Odoo handle a law firm's trust accounting?

We would not use it for that. Trust accounting has rules set by your bar, and software built for it exists. Odoo can run the firm's operating books, time, and billing beside it.

Is Odoo an insurance agency management system?

No. It has no carrier downloads, rating, or commission statements by carrier as standard. An agency can use it for intake, renewals, follow-up, and its own accounting, alongside its agency system.

Is client data safe in Odoo?

Odoo has access rights by role, and hosting choices include Odoo's own cloud or your own server. Whether a given setup meets your regulator's requirements is a question for your compliance adviser. We configure to the answer.

What does Odoo cost for finance, legal, and insurance firms, and how long does it take?

Both depend on the workflows, the state of the data, and the number of integrations, so we do not publish a price list or a standard timeline. You get a written scope with a quote and dates, and nothing starts until you approve it.

What happens after launch?

The system keeps an owner. Odoo Support runs month to month for fixes, changes, and questions. Odoo Operations is a committed engagement for teams that want us to own the platform, including upgrades.
