Odoo Partner Entertainment & Media

Odoo for media and entertainment companies, budgeted by the project.

A production, a campaign, or a show is a project with a budget and a deadline. The budget usually lives in a spreadsheet that one person understands.

We set up Odoo for production companies, media businesses, and event operators so quotes, crew time, purchases, and invoices sit on the project. Rights, royalties, and ad scheduling are specialist work, and we say where Odoo stops.

  • Written scope before work starts
  • Built on staging
  • Supported after launch
Where the time goes

Where a production loses its budget.

Budgets that drift

The quote was one number. Freelancers, rentals, and overtime added up to another, and nobody saw it until the wrap.

Freelancers paid from a folder of invoices

Day rates, kit fees, and expenses arrive by email in every format. Matching them to a project is manual.

Gear nobody can find

Cameras, lights, and audio kits are booked on a shared calendar. Double bookings are discovered on the day.

Billing that waits on the producer

The invoice goes out when someone finds time to add up the job. Cash arrives a month later than it should.

What we set up and run

Odoo for media and entertainment companies: what it covers.

Projects

A budget per production

Quotes become projects with budget lines. Time, purchases, and expenses post against them as they happen.

Crew

Time, expenses, and planning

Staff and freelancers are scheduled by role and date. Time and expenses are recorded against the project from a phone.

Equipment

Rental and booking

The Rental app tracks which kit is out, when it is due back, and what it earned. Internal bookings use the same availability.

Events

Registration and tickets

The Events app handles registration, ticket types, and payment for screenings, conferences, and smaller shows.

Configuration, or a project of its own?
Need Usually configuration Needs its own scope
Project budgets Budget against actual by project and category. Budget formats a studio, network, or bond company requires.
Freelancers Vendor bills and expenses by project. Union rates, residuals, and entertainment payroll. Usually a payroll service, connected.
Equipment Rental orders, availability, and returns. Barcode or tag scanning, and sub-rental from other houses.
Rights and royalties Contracts stored with dates and reminders. Royalty calculation, rights windows, and statements.

This is a guide, not a price list or a promise. What applies to you depends on your Odoo plan, your current software, and your rules, and it is settled in a written scope before work starts. See Odoo implementation and Odoo integrations.

Before you replace anything

Keep the specialist tools for specialist work.

Scheduling and budgeting tools built for film and television, ad traffic systems, and ticketing platforms do things Odoo does not. Keep them. Odoo's place is the company around the production: quotes, purchasing, crew cost, equipment, and invoicing, with numbers brought in from the specialist tools where that saves retyping.

Connecting systems that are not Odoo is covered under API and systems integration, and software built for your own rules under custom software.

Illustrative example, not a client result

One production, from quote to final invoice.

This is how the work can move once the steps share one record. Your version will differ, and which steps are configuration or integration depends on your setup.

  1. The quote is approved

The client signs the quote online. It becomes a project with the same budget lines.

  2. Crew and kit are booked

People are scheduled by role, and equipment is reserved against the shoot dates. Conflicts show before the day.

  3. Costs land as they happen

Freelancer bills, rentals, and expenses are coded to the project when they are entered, not at the wrap.

  4. The invoice goes out

Milestone invoices are created from the project. The producer sees budget against actual on one screen.

How we work

Six phases, one accountable team.

  1. Understand the workflows

We follow real work through your operation: where it starts, who touches it, where it waits, and where it gets retyped. You get a written scope that says what we found and what we recommend.

  2. Configure and integrate

Configuration first, integration second, custom work last and only where the first two fall short. Everything is built on staging, not on your live system.

  3. Validate the data

Your records are cleaned and loaded on a test copy, then checked by the people who know them. Bad data is the most common reason a launch disappoints.

  4. Train the team

Each team learns its own part on its own real cases. Short written guides stay behind.

  5. Launch

A planned cutover with a checklist, a way back, and us on hand while the first real work goes through.

  6. Support

After launch the system has an owner. Odoo Support runs month to month, and Odoo Operations is a committed engagement for teams that want us to own the platform.

Pricing
Written scope, then a quote

Every project is scoped and quoted for approval before work starts. There is no price list, because the workflows, the data, and the integrations drive the number.

After launch
The system has an owner

Odoo Support month to month, or Odoo Operations as a committed engagement.

FAQ

Questions we hear from media and entertainment companies.

Can Odoo calculate royalties?

Not as standard. Odoo can hold contracts and sales data, but royalty rules, rights windows, and statements need custom work or a system built for it. If royalties are central to your business, that decides the architecture.

Can Odoo replace our production budgeting tool?

For commercial, corporate, and event work, often yes. For film and television with industry budget formats, we would keep the specialist tool and bring totals into Odoo.

Can we rent our equipment to other companies through Odoo?

Yes. The Rental app handles quotes, availability, pickup, return, and invoicing. Scanning and damage workflows are scoped to how your warehouse works.

What does Odoo cost for media and entertainment companies, and how long does it take?

Both depend on the workflows, the state of the data, and the number of integrations, so we do not publish a price list or a standard timeline. You get a written scope with a quote and dates, and nothing starts until you approve it.

What happens after launch?

The system keeps an owner. Odoo Support runs month to month for fixes, changes, and questions. Odoo Operations is a committed engagement for teams that want us to own the platform, including upgrades.
