It Takes Two is a greeting card and stationery publisher founded in 1984, known for Georgia Rettmer’s distinctive torn paper art style. With 5,000+ SKUs serving retail consumers, wholesale buyers, and specialized verticals (veterinary, hospice, real estate, funeral, nonprofit), the company was running three separate BigCommerce sites — retail, direct, and wholesale — with no integration between them. Three inventories, three order systems, and a full-time job keeping them in sync.
We consolidated everything into a single Odoo-powered storefront that serves all three audiences with appropriate pricing and catalog visibility. The product hierarchy was rebuilt to handle 50+ subcategories spanning wildly different verticals without becoming a navigation nightmare. But the real unlock was the custom Fiery print integration: when an order is paid, the print job is automatically created and queued. Payment triggers production. No one copies an order number onto a production sheet, no one walks a printout to the press operator.
For a company processing hundreds of orders per week across 5,000+ SKUs, removing that manual handoff eliminated an entire category of errors — wrong quantities, missed items, orders sitting in inboxes over weekends. The consolidation also solved SEO and brand coherence issues: three separate domains became one with 700+ properly structured URLs.
