Florida wholesale distribution

ERP and B2B ordering systems for Florida wholesale distributors.

A Florida distributor rarely has one kind of customer. There are local accounts, accounts three hours up the turnpike, and accounts in another state or another country.

Parameter sets up and supports the systems that keep those orders straight: Florida wholesale distribution ERP on Odoo, B2B ordering portals, and the integrations between sales, warehouse, and accounting. We are a Florida company, and we stay after launch.

Five situations

Where a Florida wholesale distribution ERP project usually starts.

Each of these is common, and each has a part that is setup and a part that needs its own scope. We keep the two apart, so you know what you are buying.

Repeat accounts across several territories

What it looks like
Reps cover South Florida, Tampa Bay, and Central Florida, and each keeps their accounts' usual orders and special prices in their own head, inbox, or spreadsheet. A customer who calls the office gets a different answer than one who calls the rep.
What we set up
Every account in one place with its price list, terms, and order history, visible to the rep and to customer service alike. Repeat orders start from the last order instead of from a blank form.
What needs scoping
Territory rules, rep commissions, and who may see or change which accounts.

Sales, customer service, warehouse, and accounting on one record

What it looks like
The rep takes the order, customer service retypes it, the warehouse prints it, and accounting rebuilds the invoice. Four people, four copies, and a status question means walking across the building.
What we set up
One order that each team works from its own screen. Sales sees stock before promising it, the warehouse picks from the order itself, and accounting invoices what shipped.
What needs scoping
Keeping an existing accounting package, or a warehouse system that has to stay.

Stock in more than one location

What it looks like
A main warehouse, a second location upstate, maybe stock on a truck. Nobody is sure which location can fill an order from Jacksonville today, so someone phones around.
What we set up
Stock tracked by location, with transfers between them recorded instead of remembered. An order can be routed to the location that has the goods.
What needs scoping
Routing rules by customer or region, barcode scanning, and third-party warehouses.

Manual order handling replaced by B2B ordering

What it looks like
Regular customers email a list or text a photo of a shelf tag. It works for twenty accounts. It stops working somewhere past a hundred.
What we set up
A B2B ordering portal where a business customer signs in, sees their catalog and prices, reorders, and checks status. Reps can place the same order for an account that prefers to call.
What needs scoping
Customer-specific catalogs beyond the built-in options, approval chains on the buyer's side, and a portal that must match an existing website.

Customers outside the state, or outside the country

What it looks like
Part of the book is local, part ships to other states, and for some distributors part goes to the Caribbean or Latin America. Each kind of order carries its own paperwork, terms, and language.
What we set up
Customer records that carry the right currency, language, and terms for that account, so documents come out correctly without being edited by hand.
What needs scoping
Export documents, freight forwarder handoffs, landed costs, and Spanish-language customer screens. These are confirmed in the written scope before they are promised to anyone.

The services behind these, and which parts are usually configuration, are laid out on the wholesale distribution page.

Local, statewide, and beyond

B2B ordering for Florida distributors has to cover four kinds of customer.

Most setups look fine for the accounts down the road. This is where things usually break: the order that ships out of state, or the customer who wants documents in Spanish.

Where the customer is, and what that asks of the system
Customer What they need from you What that means for the system
Local accounts Fast repeat orders, same-day changes, will-call or own-truck delivery Simple reordering, clear stock by location, delivery routes or pickup as a shipping method
Statewide accounts Reps on the road, consistent pricing from Miami to Jacksonville Shared account records, mobile-friendly order entry, carrier or fleet delivery by region
Out-of-state accounts Carrier shipping, freight quotes, different tax treatment Carrier integration, tax rules agreed with your accountant and then configured
Export accounts Other currencies, other languages, export paperwork Scoped case by case. Some of it is configuration, some is custom work

We are not tax or customs advisers. Tax treatment and export requirements are decided with your accountant or broker, and we configure the system to match.

Working with us

How Parameter works with a Florida distributor.

The same way we work with every client, described plainly so you can judge whether it fits.

A Florida company

Parameter is a Florida company with an office in Coral Gables. We are local. We work from our own office, and we come on site when a project needs it.

Work happens on staging

Configuration, integrations, and data loads are built and tested on a copy of your system. Location does not change how that works, whether you are in Tampa Bay or Central Florida.

English and Spanish

Our team works in both languages. Workflow reviews, training, and written guides can be in the language your staff works in.

The first conversation is free

It can be a call, an email, or an in-person meeting. When Odoo is in scope, the Odoo Assessment follows with a written Preliminary Scope within 5 business days of that conversation.

One accountable team

The people who review your workflows are the people who configure the system and answer after launch. No handoff to a ticket queue.

Scope and quote in writing

You approve a written scope and price before work starts. We do not publish package prices for this work, because the workflows and integrations drive the number.

Odoo or not
Whichever fits

Odoo is the ERP we implement, and we are an Odoo Partner. When connecting or configuring what you already run is the better move, that is what we recommend.

After launch
Someone still answers

Odoo Support month to month, or Odoo Operations as a committed engagement when you want us to own the platform.

Work we can show

Florida distribution and ordering work, running today.

Unlimited Florida Sales is a wholesale distributor here in Florida. The other two are not wholesale distributors. One is a Jacksonville printer, and both show the same kind of work: customer-specific ordering, approvals, shipping, and connections to other systems.

FAQ

Questions from Florida distributors.

Do you work with distributors outside Miami?

Yes. Our office is in Coral Gables, and we work with distributors across Florida. We work from our office on staging systems, with calls and screen shares, so a distributor in Tampa Bay, Orlando, or Jacksonville gets the same process.

Will you come on site?

Yes, if the project needs it. We are local, and we do most of the work from our own office on staging systems. The first conversation can be a call, an email, or an in-person meeting, and site visits are planned in the written scope.

Can you train our staff in Spanish?

Yes. Our team works in English and Spanish, so workflow reviews, training, and written guides can be in the language your staff works in.

We ship to the Caribbean and Latin America. Can the system handle export orders?

Part of it is configuration: a customer record can carry its own currency, language, and terms. Export documents, freight forwarder handoffs, and landed costs are scoped case by case. We are not customs advisers, so the requirements come from your broker and we build to them.

We keep stock in more than one location. Can one system show all of it?

Yes. Odoo tracks stock by location and records transfers between them, so sales can see what each location holds before promising it. Routing rules, barcode scanning, and third-party warehouses are scoped separately.

How is sales tax handled for customers in other states?

That decision belongs to your accountant, not to us. Once the rules are agreed, we configure them in the system so the right tax lands on the right invoice.

Where is the system hosted? Do you host Odoo?

We do not host Odoo. It runs on Odoo Online, on Odoo.sh, or on your own server, and we help you choose. The choice depends mostly on whether you need custom code.
