Odoo vs Zoho: one ERP, or a suite of apps?
Zoho One and Odoo both promise to run the whole company from one login. Zoho One does it with 50+ separate apps sold as one license. Odoo does it with one system, where sales, stock, and accounting share a single data model.
Neither is the wrong answer. Zoho is hard to beat on price for an office-based team. Odoo earns its place when inventory, manufacturing, or custom workflows are the business. Here is where each one fits, with both vendors' list prices.
Odoo or Zoho: which one fits?
Choose Zoho One if most of your team works at a desk, the job is CRM, email, projects, help desk, and bookkeeping, and you would rather license everyone at one low price.
Look at Odoo if you hold stock, build or assemble products, want accounting and operations in the same system, or expect to change how the software works.
Three differences that matter more than the feature list.
Zoho vs Odoo comes down to what the company does all day, not which one has more apps.
1. How you pay
Zoho One costs $37 per employee per month, billed annually, if you license every employee on your payroll. License only some of them and it is $67 per user. The all-employee rule cuts both ways: it is cheap per head, and it counts heads who may never log in.
Odoo charges per person who uses the back end: $31.10 a month on Standard and $61.00 on Custom, billed yearly, with every app included. Customers and suppliers on the portal are free.
2. How deep operations go
This is where the two part ways. Zoho Inventory inside Zoho One comes with limits of 7,500 orders and 3,000 purchase orders a month and 6 locations, and it treats assembled products as composite items. Zoho One's plan details list no manufacturing app.
Odoo includes Inventory, Manufacturing, Quality, PLM, and Maintenance in the subscription, and its price list sets no limit on features or data. If you make or move physical goods, that gap decides the question.
3. How far it bends
Zoho is customized with Zoho's tools: custom apps in Zoho Creator and extensions from its marketplace, all on Zoho's cloud. That covers a lot, inside the lines Zoho draws.
Odoo gives you Studio for changes without code, custom modules in Python for everything else, and access to the source. It runs on Odoo Online, Odoo.sh, or your own server. More freedom means more to maintain, which is where a partner earns their fee.
Where each one is stronger.
Where Odoo is stronger
- Manufacturing: MRP, Quality, PLM, and Maintenance are part of the product.
- Inventory without monthly order limits in the price list.
- One data model for sales, stock, and accounting.
- Custom modules in Python, with source access, on hosting you choose.
- You license the people who use it, not every employee.
Where Zoho is stronger
- Price for an office team: $37 per employee for 50+ apps.
- Mail, chat, file storage, and meetings come in the bundle.
- Sales tooling in Zoho CRM's upper editions: quoting rules, customer journeys, multi-team management.
- API access is included. Odoo keeps it for the Custom plan.
- A free CRM edition for three users, to try before anyone signs.

What 20 people cost on each.
Take a company of 20 where everyone needs a login. At list price, Zoho One is $8,880 a year on all-employee pricing. Odoo is $7,464 a year on Standard, or $14,640 on Custom, which you need for Studio, multi-company, or the external API.
Now make it a company of 60 where only 20 people need the software. Zoho's all-employee price would have to cover all 60, so those 20 seats move to flexible pricing at $67: $16,080 a year. Odoo's number does not change, because it never counted the other 40. Zoho does ask companies whose staff don't use a computer or phone to talk to its sales team, so get that answer in writing.
Each figure is users times the monthly list price times 12, before Odoo's first-year discount. Implementation sits on top of both, and it is the cost neither price list shows. The Odoo pricing guide covers the Odoo side in full.
